Below is the recipe for the sourdough starter and basic sourdough bread recipe. Getting the starter going can be a bit of a pain but once its done you have it for life, even if you go on holiday and leave it in the fridge for a time you can start using it again. Once you start your sourdough journey you will reseach it and come across slightly different ways of doing things, its trial and error. The last time I threw in a handful of seeds in mine which added a nice nutty flavour. The jars I use have the rubber rim and the metal clips for the lid but you can get away with plastic containers or an ordinary large jar, pehaps just open and close it now an again to let the build up of air out.
