We all love our tasty sweet treats and can still enjoy them but with less sugar. Fresh fruit in cakes works a treat, try the recipe below, it’s Richard Hughes’ recipe which I came across in the Eastern Daily Press Norfolk.
There is no harm in experimenting with your recipes by reducing the amount of sugar or making a syrup glaze to cover the cake instead of loads of frosting. Although a beautiful frosted cake for a celebration is a must!,
Orange, lemon and lime zest are great and using locally produced honey can all add punch to your cakes. Don’t be shy with spices either such as caraway seeds, cinnamon, mixed spice and cardamom.
